Lucas Whitney

Spencer had to work for a very short time in DC this past Sunday so we decided to go with him and maybe go to the zoo. We meet Kerri and Lucas while Spencer and Scott went to work. We just hung out in our cars as it was raining and the parking cost at the zoo was crazy. It is $10 for the first hour! I cant even remember how much it was after that. We went back to the hotel where the guys were working and Kerri and Lucas came and sat with us in our car. Lucas is getting so big! He is super cute. I wish that we could spend more time with them. We love you guys!

Only in Pennsylvania

Jen and I (in our great adventures) went to Costso in Lancaster to get some things for the Relief Society dinner and we were cracking up when there was horse and buggy parking. Jen says that she has seen that area full before. It was hilarious. Only in Amish country!

Relief Society Birthday

We had a Relief Society birthday dinner last week and Jen and I decorated two tables.  We both did ours in a United States of America theme. We used vintage post cards. Jen used hers as napkin rings and I hung mine on the twigs I had in my ironstone pitcher. Jen had a gorgeous arrangement of 48 roses in her blue and white transferware pitcher and bowl. She also had beautiful plates with ships on them. They both turned out fabulous! She is super creative. It has been great "learning" from her. She has definantly made me come out of my creative shell more. I am blessed!

Sledding

Ok so I am very far behind on blogging. As I reported before, we were watching it snow and waiting for Spencer to turn around from work and get home to go sledding. It snowed about 6 inches  that day so we went sledding as soon as he got home. Spencer always builds a ramp and this time he had Madelyn lay under it so he could jump over her. Always a crazy dad! When you look at the picture Madelyn is the cute brown spot in the snow. Dylan is on a "snow scooter" in the background. Three days later it was 70 degrees and the ground was super muddy. I am so ready for SPRING!!

My husband the "Snowboarder"

Ok, Spencer really is a snowboarder. He is very good for us only being here for 4 years and him getting to go when he isn't working (which is never). He and his friend Joe from work went this last week and took some video. Check out Spencer jumping. He does a fabulous job. Please watch til the very end to note the style and grace of my ultra cute hubby and then pay close attention to his equally cute friend. (Hint: he is the one in the background not particularly upright) I love you Joe!

Jen and Tori's great adventures!

I am so glad that I carry a camera with me everywhere. I sware that Jen and I just ran to the Dollar Tree to get some glow sticks for Maddie. I looked over towards Sam's Club and saw a dude in a bomb suit. I told Jen what I saw and then we were hooked. We "had" to find out what was going on. It is in my blood. I am a true rubbernecker. Thanks mom! There was a bomb squad and they blew up a suitcase in the parking lot. It was cool. They said "fire in the hole" and Jen didnt hear it and she totally jumped. It was a riot. I have no idea what was in the poor suitcase but it didnt stand a chance. It was just another day in the many adventures of Tori and Jen. I will have to watch the news to see if they say what the innocent suitcase did to deserve to be blown up. I will let you know. :)

Happy birthday to Spencer!!

I got tickets to a concert for my sweet hubby's 35th birthday. Ok I guess I should admit that I really wanted them but it was a great gift idea right?!? We went last night to see DAVID COOK. For those of you who are from the stone ages and don't know who David Cook is, he was the winner of the last season of American Idol. Spencer and I love to watch American Idol and we were really rooting for David Cook. We think that he is fabulous. He sang my favorite song last season on the show and that sealed the deal for me. It was "The Music of the Night" from the Phantom of the Opera. It was the best I have ever heard. I wish I could find a recording of it somewhere. Anyhow, we went last night to Dickinson College where they were having a benefit concert. Tickets were super cheap and it was AWESOME! We were in the 3rd row and it was amazing. I had so much fun with my sweetheart. It was so nice to get out with him. Spencer's parents kept the kids which was wonderful. We even stayed out past midnight and didn't turn into pumpkins. It was so fun being on a date with my true best friend. I would suggest it to everyone! Plus David Cook is not too hard on the eyes either and there was plenty of eye candy there for Spencer since we were on a college campus. I hope that he had as much fun as I did. Happy birthday my darling husband and best friend. I love you so much!

Madelyn's first musical!

Madelyn was in a school musical this past Tuesday. It was called "Go West".  It was very cute. We had a couple other friends in it too.  Eleyna and Julia Hartman and Peter Smith were just a few kids we know and love that were in it.  I am going to attempt to add a short video of it. It is our first video with this camera. It was auto focusing a lot.  Ok it is taking forever. I will try again later. I have a full length dvd that Chris Hartman did that I can send copies of in a few days. Let me know if you want one.  The kids all did a fabulous job. It is funny how I get all choked up watching kids I love do awesome things.  I am so proud of them all.

School is CLOSED!! :(

Ok, I know that I should be excited for my kids but......... Those of you who know me know that I spent all last week cleaning my house like it has not been cleaned in a long time. Having the kids home for another day after the weekend is just scary for my and the clean house. :) I guess I have to be Drill Sargent Mom today. I will keep posting about what is happening here. I am sure that my cute hubby is dying that he is at work. Sledding looks inevitable. Will keep you posted.

It is snowing!

We have been told so many different weather reports that we start to not believe them. When my super handsome hubby got up at 4:40 this morning there was no snow. As he headed further south things were fine until he hit I 95. He saw at least 10 crashes on his way to work. I got up at 7:15 to check here and this is what I saw. The kids have a 2 hour delay but we will see how that goes. It is snowing heavy here right now. It is also super cold. Right now we are at 19 with a wind chill of 3!! Yikes! I am sure that my mom and dad want to come and visit today! I will post pictures later to show how much more we have. Everyone please pray for the safety of our loved ones while the brave the weather to take care of our families.
